Hi, I’m Michael Jared Crawford.
I’m a digital designer and illustrator based in Seattle, specializing in brand systems, accessibility, and experiences that actually feel good to use.
By day, I lead visual design for global credit card programs at Amazon, shaping personalized experiences across web, app, and email. I collaborate with marketing, product, and research teams to turn data into designs that connect with and solve issues for real people—that scale with business growth.
Outside of work, I’m a mentor, an advocate for inclusive design, and a full-time sphynx cat dad. I believe great design is clear, kind, and a little unexpected.
Let’s build something people actually want to use. If you have any coffee shop recommendations, I'm all ears!

What drives me
In March 2008, I was faced with a life-altering diagnosis of Type 2 Complex Regional Pain Syndrome due to medical negligence. Within a short period of time, I lost my ability to walk and was confined to a wheelchair. Doctors told me that I would never walk again, but with the help of an experimental clinic and dedicated medical professionals, I was able to make a full recovery in just six months. This experience has shaped me as a person and a designer, and has taught me the importance of actively unlearning biases and considering the implications of my work for people with different levels of mental and physical ability.
I believe in the power of human-centered design and using data to inform my decisions. My goal is to understand evolving needs and use design to solve complex problems. By taking into consideration the unique perspectives and needs of my audience, I strive to create designs that are both functional and inclusive. This approach drives my work and reminds me that with hard work and dedication, anything is possible.
